Some of the best experiences I learned backpacking was to invest time to plan the places I’m going to visit. With that attitude I could optimize my time, save money and find alternatives to a plan B if the first plan cannot be implemented. The first thing that I have in mind is the location of the hostel because it will be my home during the visit to the city. In my first adventure I went through difficult times to choose accommodation, going a little further from the points of interest in exchange for a price lower. I don’t do that! The economy does not always mean everything for backpackers, there are moments when it is better to pay a little more and stay quiet.
As I said before, the location is very important during my trips and the nine Che Lagarto Hostels, I know, everyone has a strategic location for the traveller. They are mostly close to cafes, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, bakeries, bus, subway stops and others. With the little experience that I have, I now understand how these points are important and make a difference when we need something.
I’m going to take advantage of the strategic location of Che Lagarto Hostel Copacabana and share three tours around Rio de Janeiro of very low cost.

1º tour – Beaches

  • Calçadão de Copacabana
  • Copacabana Fort and the Historic Museum of the Army
  • Arpoador Beach
  • Ipanema beach
  • Leblon Beach
  • You can do it on foot, by bus or by bike.

2º Tour – Green Spaces

  • Botanical Garden
  • Park Lage
  • Chinatown
  • Do the ride on bus

3º Tour- Cultural

  • National Library
  • Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro
  • National Museum of Fine Arts
  • São Sebastião Cathedral
  • Arcos de Lapa
  • Steps of Lapa
  • Morro de Santa Tereza
  • Enjoy and stay in Lapa or in Santa Tereza drinking a cold beer!

I hope that you´ve enjoyed the post, I did the three rides and I really liked them.

Did you like it? Book here and enjoy the city! :)
